World Youth Day 2011
"Madrid, Spain"

Sister Daisy from Brooklyn, N.Y. and Sister Elida from Staten Island, N.Y. had the privilege to take part in the 24th World Youth Day which was held in Madrid in August. The enthusiasm and joy of youngsters, their dignified and respectful behavior has renewed their hearts with hope. It is not true that today's young people are carefree and have no values. Their devoted participation in Eucharistic adoration at night, in the various celebrations and other events has shown that our society is not so superficial as it is often said. In the eyes of those young people we could see glimpses of a future full of hope.

Sister Daisy said, "It was a great joy to be present among those young people, show them that life in Christ is 'grace, joy, and apostolic courage' and to have the opportunity to introduce them to our Institute, and to leave them with the message 'Come and see'." She felt that the experience has strengthened her faith and desire to continue serving others, especially the poorest, while remaining rooted in Christ.
